Jason Snow

Coach Jason Snow came to the Knights squad with over a decade of experience competing and teaching in the sport of wrestling.  For 10 years, Coach Snow had competed as a native Floridian and NCAA All-American.  Coached by Hall of Fame member, Gary Freis, at Fort Myers High School, Jason achieved two State Championship titles in 1997 and 1998, led his team to a Team State Championship title in 1998, and was awarded the 1998 Dave Schultz Award, naming him the most Outstanding Wrestler for the state of Florida.  Snow went on to wrestle varsity for 4 years at New York University, where he was coached by Bruce Haberli.  During his collegiate career as a Bobcat, Jason had such achievements as NCAA Division III All-American - placing fourth, Freshman Wrestler of the Year, and became the only NYU Wrestler to ever win the UAA Conference Championships all 4 years.  After graduating with a B.A. degree in Economics, Snow had decided to return to his home state and settle in Central Florida.  Quickly getting in touch with former teammate and close friend, Jason Balma, Coach Snow began helping the UCF team by working out with a few of the guys towards the end of the 2002-2003 season.  Excited with the opportunity to further assist the rising UCF team, Snow decided to officially join the coaching staff for the following season.  In his following years as coach, Coach Snow played an intricate part in training the heavier wrestlers and often acting as a drill partner for several wrestlers.  Snow’s enthusiasm for his wrestlers was evident during competition as he was always willing to warm-up wrestlers before the match and could be heard cheering throughout the gym.  Along with assisting the Knights, Jason currently works as a sales manager with Velocity Sports.
